Aztec myths
There are several myths that explain the creation of the world, but the most common is the legend of the “five suns”. According to that, several versions, the first god is Ometeotl, who created himself from the emptiness of the universe and whose main characteristic is to be ambivalent: He is both man and woman, good and bad, light and dark, fire and water, and so on. He embodies the principle of duality which, among the Aztecs, wants everything to be complementary to another.
